Answer:

x = 2, y = 4

Explanation:

Given

(x + 1, 8 ) = (3, 2y )

Equate the values in the x and y positions , that is

x + 1 = 3 ( subtract 1 from both sides )

x = 2

and

2y = 8 ( divide both sides by 2 )

y = 4

Answer:

(X+1,8)=(3,2y)

equating corresponding value we get

x+1=3

x=3-1=2

again

8=2y

y=8/2=4

x=2

y=4
