Line p contains point (6,-5) and is perpendicular to line q. The equation for line q is

y = 3x + 5.
Write an equation for line p.
Part I: Find the slope of line q. (1 point)
Part II: Find the slope of line p. (Write the negative reciprocal of the slope you found
in Part I.)
I just need the last part!!

Answer:

see explanation

Explanation:

the equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

y = 3x + 5 ← is in slope- intercept form

with m = 3

Part 1

slope of line q is 3

Part 11

given a line with slope m then the slope of a line perpendicular to it is

m_(perpendicular) = -
(1)/(m) = -
(1)/(3) = -
(1)/(3) ← slope of line p
