Actually Welcome to the concept of logarithms.

Since here the log is on both sides, we take antilog on both sides, so we get as,

==> 2-x = -5x - 18

==> -x + 5x = -18 -2

==> 4x = -20

==> x = -20/4

==> x = -5

hence, x = -5
