y = (3/4)*x - 14

Explanation:

The slope-point general equation of the straight line is:

y = m*x + b

In that equation, m is the slope and b is the intercept with y-axis

The equation has two parameters to determine m and b. for a different pair of values we get just one unique straight line equation. To do that we need two conditions.

Here we have m = 3/4 and the point P ( 16 , -2), by substitution

y = (3/4)*x + b and

- 2 = (3/4)*16 + b - 2 = 3*4 +b -2 = 12 +b b = -14

Then the final equation is:

y = (3/4)*x - 14
