Quoting a source is copying it word for word. You must put it in “....” and site your source. Paraphrase is putting the information in your own words. You don’t use “....” but you still have to site your source.

So when you quote you are taking it word by word but paraphrasing is when you change the word up a bit so you are not taking it by the word
