Answer:
A - 6/18 reduced to 1/3
B - 14/18 reduced to 7/9


Step-by-step explanation:
A - Add up all the numbers as the denominator (bottom) of your ratio fraction. Then take the number of red counters as the numerator (top) to place on top. You then get 6/18. Both numbers can be divided by 6 to get 1/3.

B - Add up all the numbers as the denominator (bottom) like you did above. Then subtract the total number by the number of blue counters (4). That number is 14 because the total number is 18 and it is your numerator (top). Now you have 14/18 which can both be divided by 2 to get 7/9.

6 + 4 + 8 = 18
The total number of counters is 18.

6 of those are red so there would be 6/18 red counters

Simplified, that is 1/3

a. 1/3

Red counters (6) + Green counters (8)=14

14/18 aren’t blue

b. 14/18
