You are going shopping for some new pants. You see a deal at Old Navy for 5 pants for $160. There's another deal at H & M for 9 pants for $315. Calculate the unit rates to see which is the better deal. Old Navy unit rate = dollars per pants H & M unit rate = dollars per pants is the better deal.

Answer:

Old Navy

Explanation:

1) Old Navy: Find how much 1 pair of pants costs

5 pants = 160 dollars

Divide 160 by 5

160÷5=32

Therefore, 1 pair of pants at Old Navy costs 32 dollars.

2) H&M: Find how much 1 pair of pants costs

9 pants = 315 dollars

Divide 315 by 9

315÷9=35

Therefore, 1 pair of pants at H&M costs 35 dollars.

Because 32<35, Old Navy has the better deal.

I hope this helps!
