Multiply both sides of the equation by 12


-3x+72=8x+336

Subtract 8x from both sides

Subtract 72 from both sides

And the second one...


2(a-2)=3(a-5)

Distribute the 2 to the (a - 2) and the 3 to (a - 5)


2a-4=3a-15

then add 15 to both sides


2a+11=3a

Subtract 2a from both sides

11 = a
