A rectangular piece of fabric was used to make a banner. It measured 12 feet long and had an area of 24 square feet. What is its perimeter?

Perimeter = 28 feet

Explanation:

The formula to find the area of a rectangle is Length * width and we already have one dimension here, so we simply plug it in and make an equation to the find the unknown measurement

12 * d = 24

d = 24/12

d = 2

So the missing dimension is 2 feet

Now we simply find the perimeter of the rectangle using the formula

2 ( length + width)

= 2 (12 + 2 )

= 2 ( 14 )

= 28 feet
