The regulation of temperature, keeping appropriate blood pressure, maintaining calcium levels, managing water levels, and protecting against viruses and bacteria are some examples of systems/purposes that work to preserve homeostasis.

Maintaining homeostasis may vary. For example, the definition of homeostasis is to maintain the temperature or the current condition of your body while the outside condition is changing. So, if the weather is cold homeostasis causes you to shiver or to get goosebumps so it could trap the heat inside your body causing you to maintain your current body temperature without getting frostbite or anything that could affect your health. The same thing for heat your body has regular hair status meaning it’s flat and letting the heat out. And when it gets super hot it causes your body to sweat so you do not overheat and possibly faint or worse.
