Smaller denominator means how many times the shape can be split into, meaning that since it is smaller there are less pieces. whereas larger denominator will mean that it needs more pieces to fit into the shape
e.g. 1/6 47/82
for 1/6 the shape will be split into 6 parts
for 47/82 it will be split into 82 parts

Answer:

Explanation:

The bigger the denominator the smaller the fraction.

For example if you have 1/9 and 1/5.

The fraction 1/5 has a greater denominator and is greater than 1/9, because it is split into less parts.

Hope this helped :)
