If -6x + 12 = 0 and 4y + 5 =9
what is the value of x + y

-6x=0-12=-12= -6/-12 =2 So, X=2

4y=9-5=4 = 4/4= 1 So, y=1

Hence,

X+Y

= 2+1

take 12 to the other side &it becomes negated then equate

-6x=-12

the negatives cancel out each other and therefore the answer is positive

x=2

4y+5=9

take 5 over to the other side &it becomes negated

4y=9-5

4y=4

y=1
