Turn the whole number into a fraction, so put it over ONE. This then becomes:
5 3
- / -
1 5
Flip the second fraction when dividing.
5 5
- X - You can now multiply the fractions
1 3

5 x 5= 25
1 x 3= 3
This becomes 25
-
3
This is a top heavy fraction, we can turn it into a mixed number by doing 25/3
3 goes into 25, EIGHT times so the whole number is 8 and leaves a remainder of 1
So:
8 1
-
3
Or you could have 25
-
3
We keep the denominator the same when making the improper (top heavy) fraction into a mixed number.
