To get x, we know we have an isosceles triangle

So the length of the third ungiven leg is x too

Mathematically, the square of the hypotenuse (side facing the right angle) is equal the sum of the squares of the two other sides

(6 √2)^2 = x^2 + x^2

72 = 2x^2

x^2 = 72/2

x^2 = 36

x = √36

x = 6
