A rectangle and a triangle have the same area.

The dimensions of the rectangle are 3 cm and 10 cm. The base of the triangle is 6 cm.
What is the height of the triangle? How do you know?

Given:

Dimensions of rectangle = 3 cm , 10 cm

Base of triangle = 6 cm

Find:

Height of the triangle

Computation:

Given that area of rectangle is equal to area of triangle

So,

(l x b) = (1/2)(b)(h)

(3 x 10) = (1/2)(6)(h)

30 = 3(h)

h = 10

Height of the triangle = 10 cm
