simplify addition:

simplify fraction;

`\displaystyle \: (6)/(17.5 - x) = 0.8`

cross multiplication:

`\displaystyle 6 = 14 - 0.8x`

cancel 14 from both sides:

`\displaystyle - 8= - 0.8x`

divide both sides by -0.8:
