Rectangle A has area 50 cm2 and length 10 cm. The area of rectangle B is one-half the

area of rectangle A. The rectangles have the same length.
What is the width of rectangle B?

Explanation:

so to find the area of a rectangle it is width x length

  • Rectangle A

10=Length

w=Width

10w=50

w=5cm=width

  • Rectangle B

1/2(area of rectangle A)

1/2(50)=25

w(length of Rectangle A)=area

w(10)=25

w=25/10

w=5/2
