f(x) = (-11/7)x - 4

Explanation:

f(-7)=7 means if you put in a -7, then you get out a 7. This is the point (-7,7) or x=-7 and y=7.

Also, f(0)=-4 is the point (0,-4) which is x=0 and y=-4

From two points you can find slope. Subtract y's put it on top; subtract x's and put on the bottom.

(y-y)/(x-x) =

(7 - -4)/(-7 - 0)

= 11/-7

= -11/7

The point (0,-4) is the y-intercept

So point-slope form of the equation using

y = mx + b

y = (-11/7) x + -4

Function notation gives us:

f(x) = (-11/7)x - 4
