Explanation:

By using the pytahgorean theorem a² + b² = c² we can determine the answer of 10 ft. If you do not know already the length and width are the a and the b so a=6 and b=8. by squaring both of these we get a=36 and b=64 (squaring is just the number times itself so 3² would be 3x3) by adding both of these squared values we get 64+36=100 which means that c²=100 so to get our final answer we just take the square root of c² which is the opposite of squaring it. So √100=10 and that is our final answer
