Explanation:

One hour of babysitting costs $15 One hour of mowing costs $12

Let the of hours babysitting be x, Let the hours of mowing be y,

$195÷2=$97.5

$195-$49.5 = $145.5 $97.5 - 12 X 4 =$49.5

∴ Total money Sophia got for ∴ Total money Sophia got

baby sitting is $145.5. mowing is $49.5.

Now, Now,

15 X x = $145.5 $12 X y = $49.5

x =
(145.5)/(15) y =
(49.5)/(12)

x = 9.7 y = 4.125

∴ Sophie babysitted for ∴ Sophia mowed for 4.125 hours.

9.7 hours.

Note:

You can check if your answer is correct like this:

Multiply 9.7 by $15 ( you will get $145.5 as the answer)

Then, multiply 4.125 by $12 (you will get $49.5 as the answer)

Lastly, add the answers together.($145.5 + $49.5 which will give the answer

as $195)

And boom you got the same answer as written in the question.

It's just a small trick to check if your answer is correct.

I hope this will help you!!!

You would have to divide 195 by both 15 and 12 to get both hours mowing and hours babysitting.

195 / 15 = 13

195 / 12 = 16 1/4

now if you put the answers in place of b and m you would get (15*13) + (12*16.25) = 195

Answer: 195

Conclusion: Sophia gets over payed
