l = 3w-2 ••••(i)

we have the perimeter calculated as follows;

Substitute equation i into ii

3w-2 + w = 54

4w = 54 + 2

4w = 56

w = 56/4

w = 14

Recall;

l + w = 54

14 + l = 54
