Given the expression

x^2 + 8x - 3 = 0

On factorizing

x = -8±√8²-4(-3)/2

x = -8±√64+12/2

x = -8±√76/2

x = -8±8.7/2

Note that since the since the discriminant is not a prefect square, the quadratic equation cannot be written as the square of a binomial
