5. The graph of a function is a line that

passes through the coordinates (2, 11)
and (8, 14).

Let m = slope of the line.

m = (14 - 11)/(8 - 2)

m = 3/6

m = 1/2

We now have the slope and the slope is 1/2.

We plug the slope and one of the point into the point-slope formula.

Here is the point-slope formula:

y - y_1 = m(x - x/_1)

I will use the point (2, 11).

y - 11 = (1/2)(x - 2)

y - 11 = (1/2)x - 1

Now we solve for y by adding 11 to both sides of the equation.

y = (1/2)x - 1 + 11

Answer: y = (1/2)x + 10

Answer:

y = 1/2x + 10

Explanation:

(y-11)/(14-11) = (x-2)/(8-2)

(y-11)/3 = (x-2)/6

2y-22 = x-2

2y = x + 20

y = 1/2x + 10
