There are many times when I can feel like an outsider... normally it all begins with when I don't have enough confidence to talk to others around me. It can also come from trying something new, it's as if I've joined a community without an invitation.
One of the biggest experiences for me was moving school. It is hard for everyone as the world gets ever so slightly bigger. New people, new friends, new rules, new school.
You are suddenly outside your comfort zone, because not only do you have to deal with the stresses of this new way of life, but you still have to learn.
I feared the break and lunch the most: who would I sit with? If I sat with classmates, the conversation would most likely be awkward. And what if they didn't want me? The teachers were nice enough, but you don't want to be spending you free time with them! Consequently, you are left alone, sat by yourself... feeling like an outsider.
