Seed Adaptation for Water Dispersal
Of the many characteristics of fruits and seeds that are dispersed by water, buoyancy is the most important. Buoyancy enables seeds to float on the water's surface. This can be achieved by being very small and lightweight, such as silver birch, foxglove and harebell seeds.
