slope equation m=y2-y1/x2-x1

point slope formula y-y1=m(x-x1)

use the two points to find the slope first:

m= 5-3/-1-5

m=2/-6 simplify this fraction to -1/3

now you have a slope and you must pick one of the two points and either point will work; lets pick the first one (5,3) and plug them into the point slope formula

y-3=-1/3(x-5) simplify

y-3=-1/3x+5/3

y=-1/3x+14/3
