Therefore, corresponding sides of these similar triangles will be in the proportional.


(AB)/(PQ)=(BC)/(QR)= (AC)/(PR)


(6)/(x)= (4)/(y)= (8)/(12)


(6)/(x)= (8)/(12)

x =
(12* 6)/(8)

x = 9

Similarly,
(4)/(y)= (8)/(12)

y =
(12* 4)/(8)

y = 6
