-4x + y = 3

-4x + 2x-1 = 3

-2x = 3+1

-2X = 4

x = -4/2

x = -2

Substitute x = -2 into 1

y = 2x - 1

y = 2(-2)-1

y = -4-1

y = -5

Hence the solution to the system of equation is (-2, -5)
