Let the first term be a

Given, a = -5

d = 10

So, we need to find next three terms i.e. second, third and fourth terms.


Using \: formula \: = > a_(n) = a + (n - 1)d


a _(2) = - 5 + (2 - 1)10 \\ = - 5 + 10 = 5 \\ a _(3) = - 5 + (3 - 1)10 \\ = - 5 + 20 = 15 \\ a _(4) = - 5 + (4- 1)10 \\ = - 5 + 30= 25

Formula used = a + (n - 1)d

The next three terms are as follows :

• -5 + (2-1)10 = -5 + (20 - 10) = 5

-5 + (3-1)10 = -5 + (30 - 10) = 15

-5 + (4-1)10 = -5 + (40 - 10) = 25

~ Hence the next three terms are 5 , 15 and 25.
