So you will distribute the number beside the ( )

so the equation be looking like :

18x - 8x = 10x + 5 - 2

now combine like terms

18x - 8x = 10x

5 - 2 = 3

10x = 10x +3

now subtract 10x to the other side they cross off

leaving x = 3

and so that's your answer
