Answer: 4p(-3q+2)

Explanation:

The hcf (highest common factor) of 8 and 12 is 4 so you would put a 4 in front of the bracket.

Then because it has p in both of the numbers you can put p at the front with the 4.

This looks like 4p so far.

After that, you would have to do -12/4=-3

So then because you don’t have a q at the front you would put it with the -3.

This looks like 4p(-3q) so far.

Then, you would have to do 8/4=2.

And as you have a p at the front, you don’t need one with the 2.

This would look like together as 4p(-3q+2)
