1. The most persuasive thing is to show before and after pictures of alcoholics.
2. I would smash all the bottles and take them to a professional to help them with their problem.

1: I think a good argument would be to say how much happier it would make them if they stopped drinking.

2: To help them stop, remind them to eat more. Yes, eating constantly isn't great for you, but it's better than being an alcoholic. If you eat more, you won't have a chance to drink.
