As far as I know, in math, Δ means:
triangle
delta (slope)
Examples:
ΔABC ≅ ΔDEF
"triangle ABC is congruent to triangle DEF"
Δ =
"delta equals 1 over 2"
Delta is another word for "slope"
"the slope equals 1 over 2"
