(x-7)2=36

Can also be written the other way round with the 2 infront

2(x-7)=36

You can divide both sides by 2

2(x-7)/2=36/2

x-7=18

To solve for x add 7 to both sides this will get x on its own

x-7+7=18+7

x=25

To check if our answer is correct simply substitute

x=25 into the original equation

(25-7)*2=36

True as Left side=Right side
