The weather forecast shows a 60% chance of rain. If it does not rain then there is an 80% chance of going to the beach. What is the probability of going to the beach?

The probability of going to the beach is the sum of the probabilities of the two events: it either doesn't rain and you go to the beach, or it rains and you don't go to the beach.

The probability of not raining is 100% - 60% = 40%.
The probability of going to the beach if it doesn't rain is 80%.

Therefore, the probability of going to the beach is 40% * 80% + 60% * 0% = 32%.

This means that there is a 32% chance that you will go to the beach.

Answer: 32% probability of going to the beach given the information provided in the weather forecast.

Explanation:

The probability of going to the beach is equal to the probability of it not raining times the probability of going to the beach if it does not rain. Therefore, the probability of going to the beach is equal to (1 - 0.6) * 0.8 = 0.4 * 0.8 = 0.32.
