Answer:

x = -pc/(q-p)

Explanation:

x/x-c = p/q would be 1-c = p/q, if correctly written. The x disappears.

I will assume it is actually: x/(x-c) = p/q

x/(x-c) = p/q

x = (p/q)*(x-c) [multiply by (x-c)]

qx = p*(x-c) [multiply by q]

qx = px - pc [expand p(x-c)]

qx-px = -pc [subtract px]

x*(q-p) = -pc [isolate x from the q and p]

x = -pc/(q-p) [divide by (q-p)]
