Answer:

x = 26°

y = 64°

Explanation:

Find x first. The three angles in a triangle add up to 180°.

The triangle with x and 64° and a right angle has two known angles.

90° + 64° + x = 180°

154° + x = 180°

Subtract 154°.

x = 26°

The unmarked angle in the other triangle is also 26°. Since there are a pair of parallel lines. The angle marked x and the unmarked angle are alternate interior angles. They have equal measures.

The unmarked angle is 26° and there is a right angle, the third angle is y°.

y + 26° + 90° = 180°

y + 116° = 180°

Subtract 116°.

y = 64°
