Given: 5x-14=14-2x
Isolate “x:”
5x+2x=28
7x=28
7x/7=28/7
x=4
Substitute x=4 back into the equation:
5(4)-14=14-2(4)
20-14=14-8
6=6
Therefore, x=4 is our solution.
