\fbox{x=$(-7)/(6)$ }

Flip the equation:

-6x-5=2

Add 5 to both sides:

-6x-5+5=2+5

-6x=7

Divide both sides by -6:

(-6x)/(-6) =(7)/(-6)

x=(7)/(-6)
