Jessica reduced the size of a rectangle to a height of 2 inches. What is the new width if it

was originally 4 inches tall and 8 inches wide?

2/12 = 1/6

24 * 1/6 = 4

or

12/24 = 2/x

12 x = 48

x = 4

or the original width was twice the length
