Answer:

x\ intercept = (-8,0)\\\\ y\ intercept = (0,-4)

Explanation:

A equation is given and we need to find out the x and y intercept . The given equation is ,

\longrightarrow -2x + 4y =-16

In order to find out the y intercept , substitute x = 0 in the given equation,as;

-2x + 4y =-16\\\\\longrightarrow -2(0)+4y =-16\\\\\longrightarrow 4y = -16\\\\\longrightarrow y =(-16)/(4)\\\\\longrightarrow y = -4

Again to find x intercept substitute y = 0 in the given equation, as ;

\longrightarrow -2x + 4y = -16 \\\\\longrightarrow -2x +4(0)=16\\\\\longrightarrow -2x = 16\\\\\longrightarrow x =(16)/(-2)\\\\\longrightarrow x =-8

This is the required answer !
