the third angle in the triangle on the right is vertically opposite 6x - 11 and are congruent.

sum the 3 angles in the triangle on the right and equate to 180 , that is

81 + x + 5 + 6x - 11 = 180

7x + 75 = 180 ( subtract 75 from both sides )

7x = 105 ( divide both sides by 7 )

x = 15

then

6x - 11 = 6(15) - 11 = 90 - 11 = 79

Sum the 3 angles in the triangle on the left and equate to 180, that is

4y - 18 + 79 + y + 14 = 180

5y + 75 = 180 ( subtract 75 from both sides )

5y = 105 ( divide both sides by 5 )

y = 21
