How does the author use Eurylochus as both a plot device and as a tool to reflect upon Odysseus's character?

Answer:

Eurylochus serves as a foil to Odysseus in Book 10 of the Odyssey because his cowardice only highlights Odysseus' bravery. When they get to Circe's island, Eurylochus and other men decide to explore the palace they encounter.

Hope this helps :)
