(1)/(2) h ( b₁ + b₂ )

where h is the perpendicular height between the bases and b₁, b₂ the bases

here h = 10 , b₁ = 5 and b₂ = 2
(1)/(2) = 2.5 , then

A =
(1)/(2) × 10 × (5 + 2.5) = 5 × 7.5 = 37.5 in
