Part a

Find the area of a kite with diagonals 18" and 5".

Applying the given formula

\begin{gathered} A=(1)/(2)\cdot(18\cdot5) \\ A=45\text{ in2} \end{gathered}

the area is 45 square inches

Part b

Find the area of a square with diagonal v2 cm

applying the formula

\begin{gathered} A=(1)/(2)\cdot(\sqrt[]{2})\cdot(\sqrt[]{2}) \\ A=(2)/(2)=1\text{ cm2} \end{gathered}

the area is 1 square centimeter
