Step-by-step explanation:

The equations are given below as

\begin{gathered} 3x+4y=10----(1) \\ x-y=1------(2) \end{gathered}

From equation (2) make x the subject of the formula

\begin{gathered} x-y=1 \\ x=1+y-----(3) \end{gathered}

Substitute equation (3) in equation (1)

\begin{gathered} 3x+4y=10 \\ 3(1+y)+4y=10 \\ 3+3y+4y=10 \\ 3+7y=10 \\ collect\text{ similar terms, we will have} \\ 7y=10-3 \\ 7y=7 \\ (7y)/(7)=(7)/(7) \\ y=1 \end{gathered}

Substitute y=1 in equation (3)

\begin{gathered} x=1+y \\ x=1+1 \\ x=2 \end{gathered}

Hence,

Th solution of the system of equations is

(x,y)\Rightarrow(2,1)
