Explanation:


(x+6)^(2) can also be written as (x+6)(x+6), because "squared" just means "times itself"

Knowing this you can use FOIL to turn it into a Trinomial

First: x times x =
x^(2)

Outer: x times 6 = 6x

Inner: 6 times x = 6x

Last: 6 times 6 = 36

so we have
x^(2) + 6x + 6x+36

which becomes
x^(2) +12x+36 when you combine like terms
