Recall that the volume of a cylinder is given by


V=\pi\cdot r^2\cdot h

Where r is the radius and h is the height of the cylinder.

Also, we know that the radius is half of the diameter.


r=(D)/(2)

In the given figure,

Diameter is given that is 8 cm and the height is 2 cm

So, the radius of the cylinder would be 8/2 = 4 cm

Since the cylinder is half cut, the volume of the cylinder will be half (divide by 2)
