h(7)

Since 7 is greater than 4 means that the piece if the function we must use is the last one from the function

\begin{gathered} -4x+1 \\ -4(7)+1 \\ -28+1 \\ -27 \end{gathered}

g(6)

Since 6 is greater than 5 means that the piece of the function we must use is the last one from the function

\begin{gathered} x^2-5 \\ (6)^2-5 \\ 36-5 \\ 31 \end{gathered}

h(0)

Since 0 is between -1 and 4 means that the piece of the function we must use is the middle one

h(0)=4

f(-2)

Since -2 is between -3 and 4 means that the piece of the function we must use is the middle one

\begin{gathered} (1)/(2)x-1 \\ (1)/(2)(-2)-1 \\ -1-1 \\ -2 \end{gathered}

f(-6)

Since -6 is less than -3 means that the piece of the function we must use is the first one

f(-6)=-5

g(-1)

Since -1 is less than 5 means that the piece of the function we must use use is the first one

g(-1)=-|(1)/(2)-4|-1
