1) To find out the area of the base of that prism, we'll make use of a formula

2) Since we have a rectangle whose dimensions are 3cm and 7 inches we can plug into that formula. Not without converting those dimensions before that

1 2.54

7----------------- x

x= 7 *2.54

x = 17.78 cm

3) Now we can plug that into the Area of a rectangle formula:


\begin{gathered} A=17.78\cdot3 \\ A=53.34\operatorname{cm} \end{gathered}

Hence, the area of that base is 53.34 cm²
